Last week I ran an Instagram Live with Danielle Bays from Videos Undifficulted on how to get started with video on social media. Video content can get around 12 times more engagement than static posts and it's a very consumable content format, so it's in your interest to add video into your social media strategy.
The best thing is, that to do simple videos you don't need to hire a professional videographer. You can make great videos straight from your phone. All you need is a little know-how and practice. Watch the playback for our pro tips.
We talk about:
🎬 Lighting
Don't have your subject in the dark
Face towards natural light where possible or be by a window
🎬 Stability
Have some way of holding your phone steady so your video isn't blurry and shaky.
A tripod is great, but anything to hold your phone in place so it's not wobbling around when you are talking will be fine. Check out Danielle's tips in the video
🎬 Keep your camera lense clean
Before you record, always wipe your lense with a soft cloth to avoid the soft glow from a dirty lense
🎬 Space on your phone
Make sure you have enough space on your phone before you record so your phone doesn't cut out half way through

Mojo - for creating smart looking videos. You can turn text posts and pictures into video that look great
Canva - free stock video and audio / music
VLLO - adding captions, stickers, editing clips together, resizing without leaving a watermark in the free version
Inshot - similar to VLLO but free version has a watermark
IMG Play - Gifs and stop motions (not available for android)
